The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is the state's public academic health and law university devoted to professional and graduate education, patient care, and public service. UMB educates leaders in health care delivery, biomedical science, social services, and law. The campus is comprised of sixprofessional schools and an interdisciplinary graduate school that educates students in dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work. 

The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) was established in 1889 by Louisa Parsons, a student of Florence Nightingale’s training school for nurses in London, and is ranked among the top 10 nursing schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report [italicize text]. UMSON has baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs, including Maryland’s only master’s specialty in nurse anesthesia. 

The University of Maryland School of Dentistry’s (UMSOD) Shady Grove Health and Dental Services Facility offers quality dental care in an educational environment. In this community-based site, dental students provide services under the close supervision of experienced UMSOD faculty dentists. Our providers are leaders in their field and collectively offer extensive knowledge in every facet of oral health care. Our students conduct a thorough evaluation to diagnose each patient’s needs and develop a comprehensive treatment plan before beginning treatment.
