The top-ranked Doctor of Nursing Practice Family Nurse Practitioner specialty prepares advanced practice nurses to be primary health care providers for individuals of all ages and their families.

Through more than 700 precepted clinical hours, students develop expertise in the management of care for individuals across the life span, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases.

Upon program completion:

Graduates of this specialty are prepared for certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Certification Board, an independent, nonprofit certifying body that evaluates individuals wishing to enter, continue, and/or advance in the nurse practitioner profession.
