New Library System and Search Experience Coming Soon!

The University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Libraries will be migrating to a new integrated library management system in Summer 2024.  As members of the USMAI Library Consortium, all USG partner institutions will be migrating to Alma and Primo systems from Ex Libris®, after using a shared Aleph system for over 20 years.  As a branch of UMD Libraries, Priddy Library will also be migrating to this new system, which will offer a more customized and integrated search/request experience than our existing Catalog and WorldCat systems.

Part of that customization involves unique instances of the search tool for each member library, which will result in slight differences in appearance and behavior depending on which school you're affiliated with.  For more information about how your school is approaching this system migration, please see the links below:

A consequence of the system update is that we will be unable to process loans from May 17th to May 23rd, including all equipment and any items currently on our Holds Shelf, when data is being migrated from our existing system into the new one.  You may still return prevoiously-borrowed items at the Library Service Desk or in the bookdrop, which we will process as soon as the migration is complete.

As is currently the case, all fines on borrowed library items will be managed by the library that owns these items, regardless of where you picked them up.  Please address any questions concerning fines during this time accordingly.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email, give us a call at 301-738-6020, or reach out via online reference chat during our standard operating hours!
