The mission of the Center for Counseling & Well-being (formerly the Center for Counseling and Consultation) has always involved "fostering learning, growth, wellness and success throughout the campus community."  While it has had this holistic perspective on personal and interpersonal well-being from the start, the CCW has recently broadened its offerings to develop a Recreation & Well-being arm, in addition to its traditional counseling services.  The establishment of Recreation & Well-being is part of the shift at USG to a Career Readiness model, and this evolution at the Center includes increasing staff, incorporating the campus' Student Recreation Center, creating a Relaxation Room, and initiating an array of well-being services.  We hope you will check out our wide variety of counseling, workshop, and wellness programs, which are all completely free.

Recreation & Well-being Services

The Center for Counseling & Well-being provides comprehensive counseling, consultation, and referral assistance to currently enrolled USG students.  We also assist faculty and staff with administrative referrals and consultation. All services are free and confidential. The Center offers a wide range of counseling programs, including:

The Center's Recreation & Well-being services are provided primarily through the campus' Student Recreation Center.  However, these Center offerings are growing, and in addition to Gym classes, the Center now provides wellness programsresources such as the Parent Support Group, nutrition workshops, and reproductive health resources.

Everyone struggles at times, and our hope is that when you see someone in need of assistance, you will reach out to help them get back on track.  For those in need, the Center for Counseling & Well-being provides a safe place where they can talk about their concerns and begin to work through them. When you or someone you know would benefit from talking with a friendly and comforting ear, consider the Center for Counseling & Well-being.
