New Student Orientation
Overview
New Student Orientation is a day long event that all new students to undergraduate daytime programs at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) are required to attend. At orientation you will attend various workshops and breakout sessions related to various areas of USG. Such workshops include:
- Academic Advising
- Course Registration
- Financial Aid Counseling
- Student Services
- Student Clubs, Organizations & Student Life Activities
- Computer Labs & Email Accounts
- Student Success Services
- Career Services
- Library Services
- Student I. D. Cards
- Teambuilding Exercises
- Scavenger Hunt
- Walking Tour of the Shady Grove Center
In addition to the days events you will have the chance to meet with current students, your respective program staff, and USG center staff. We hope that the day gets your better acquainted with the center, community, and services found here at USG.
Please note, the orientation dates are program specific. There is limited space for each session and an RSVP is required. If you are unsure as to which orientation you should attend please contact the Office of Student & Academic Services at USG for more information. Approximately 2 weeks before your orientation date you will be receiving a packet of information in the mail with more information about the days events.
We look forward to meeting you!
