Getting Started with USG DSS

Are you new to USG? Learn how to gain access to academic accommodations on campus. Students new to the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) must first be registered with their home campus DSS offices in order to receive accommodations through USG DSS. To get started, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Visit shadygrove.umd.edu/dssregister to find your home campus’ DSS website, then register according to your home campus’ procedures.
  2. Once you have received your semester accommodation letter from your home campus, email it to usg-disAbility@umd.edu.
  3. During your first week of classes, inform professors of your accommodations and provide them with a copy of your accommodation letter.
  4. Go to sg.mywconline.com and create an account. USG DSS confirms schedule and testing appointments through this system.
  5. Schedule your exams through shadygrove.umd.edu/testrequest at least seven days beforehand. You MUST submit a new request for EACH exam, and you can schedule all your tests in advance once you know the dates/times.
