Accounting and Business Association (ABA)

The purpose of this organization is to provide opportunities for personal, academic and professional development for students interested in the accounting profession.

American Marketing Association (AMA)

The purpose of the AMA is to foster scientific study and research in the field of marketing, develop sound thinking in marketing theory and principles, improve methods and techniques of marketing research, develop better public understanding and appreciation of marketing problems, record progress, record progress in marketing through the publication of outstanding papers, encourage and uphold sound, honest practices and to keep marketing operations on a high ethical plane, to promote friendly relations between students, faculty and business people.

Black Business Association (BBA)

The BBA at Shady Grove offers tools to assist its members in transition from students to bright profesionals.  This is done through the forum of discussions and workshops ranging from workforce diversity, resume writing, to propper business etiquette.

Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO)

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) informs, supports, and inspires college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. CEO provides real world experiences to students of all majors and interests. CEO has been recognized for its dedication to high quality events, including the "Turning Your Passsion into Profit" conference. The conference was one of the largest and most successful conferences planned and executed by students. With constant growth and new entrepreneurial endeavers, CEO welcomes all students to become a valuable part of its success.

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)

CEC, a non-profit association, accomplishes its mission which is carried out in support of special education professionals and others working on behalf of individuals with exceptionalities, by advocating for appropriate governmental policies, by setting professional standards, by providing continuing professional development, by advocating for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and by helping professionals achieve the conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Criminology & Criminal Justice Student Association (CRIMSA)

CRIMSA is established for the express purpose of providing students enrolled in the University of Maryland's program in Criminology & Criminal Justice (CCJS) at USG activities that will complement their academic studies. The activities of CRIMSA may include functions and events of an intellectual, social, cultural, or charitable nature, as well as those activities that promote the academic and professional success of future, current and graduating CCJS students.

Global Business Society (GBS)

To provide an environment to develop interpersonal skills by fulfilling social objectives, networking opportunities with professionals, fair competition and free enterprise.

Kappa Delta Pi (Honors Society)

The mission of Kappa Delta Pi is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. Kappa Delta Pi upholds the following ideas: Recognize scholarship and excellence in education; Promote the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices; Enhance the continuous growth and leadership of its diverse membership; Foster inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues; Maintain a high degree of professional fellowship.

Martial Arts Club (MAC)

The purpose of MAC is to promote student wide interest and participation in and understanding of a variety of martial arts styles through training and discussion.

Montgomery Ski and Snowboard Club (MSSC)

MSSC wants to offer the students at USG the opportunity to participate in non-academic activities that promote social, health and educational benefits. Recognizing that students have limited free time and monies, MSSC will strive to offer its members multiple opportunities throughout the winter season to participate in skiing and snowboarding at times and costs that are both convenient and affordable. MSSC Seeks to provide students with social and athletic activities to enrich their lives and create a better sense of community at USG.

Muslim Student Association (MSA)

The aim and purpose of MSA is to serve the interests of Islam and of the Muslims of USG. MSA is a non-profit organization with a fundamental purpose to encourage and enable Muslims with basic knowledge and competence in Islam to contribute individually and collectively toward meeting human needs in conformity with Islamic doctrines and belief.

Psychology Student Association (PSA)

The purpose of PSA is to encourage psychology student achievement, to bolster psychology student development, to provide a social environment for the discussion of current issues in psychology, and to discuss issues regarding the psychology program at USG.

Social Work Student Association (SWSA)

The Social Work Student Association shall be geared to serve all social work majors and any other interested parties; work to sensitize its membership to the social work profession, its value base and ethical responsibility; promote social work through community philanthropic activities, group activities, discussions, speakers, and other activities; provide social work majors with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues and concerns with other social work majors; provide social work majors with information and resources; serve as a link between students, faculty, and the community.

Student Event Board (SEB)

The SEB is a student event programming board comprised of current USG students and overseen by the Office of Student Services. Through collaboration, teamwork and dedication SEB sponsors a wide variety of out-of-class events, activities and programs. SEB enhances the overall quality of student life at USG by providing entertaining, educational and cultural programs and events that compliment the learning experience.

The International Forum (TIF)

TIF is established for the purpose of promoting general interest and awareness regarding international affairs and issues geared towards encouraging participation and contribution in various developmental projects, promoting professional networking among employers, students and international contacts, and fostering an understanding and appreciation of ethnic and socio-cultural diversity to provide a friendly forum of discussion and interaction by encouraging intra-cultural as well as inter-cultural communication.

The UMES Cooking Club

The purpose of the UMES Cooking Club is to engage and involve University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES) and other Universities at Shady Grove (USG) students in culinary community service events.

Undergraduate Communication Association (UCA)

The UCA was founded in 1996 by undergraduate communication majors at the University of Maryland, College Park.  In Fall 2006 UCA expanded to include an affiliated group of communication students who primarily attend classes at the Universities at Shady Grove.  The focus of the organization is to facilitate campus involvement, proffesional development, and social events for undergraduate students interested in the field of communication.

University of Maryland Association of Nursing Students (UMANS)

The purpose of the UMANS is to assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care; to provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns; and to aid in the development of the whole person and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.

Universities at Shady Grove Student Association (USGSA)

The purpose of USGSA is to act as a liaison between the students and the administration fo the Universities at Shady grove, to provide a forum for students to voice their concerns, to facilitate the undertaking of improvements and changes in the operations of the Universities at Shady Grove with respect to the needs of student body.
