Student Organizations
Student Organizations are an integral part of student life at USG! Students are encouraged to form and participate in recognized student clubs and organizations as a way to increase students and faculty interaction and to enrich the overall collegial experience.
While student groups may gather and convene informally at any time, we encourage students to apply to have their groups approved as official and recognized organizations by The Student Services Office at USG. The registration process offers organizations a number of benefits, such as ability to reserve class rooms free of charge and the opportunity to apply for funding through the Office of Student Services. Registration also establishes a means for on-going communication between student organizations and USG Administration, which can provide support, stability and guidance when needed.
How do I join or establish a new student organization?
Students interested in joining or establishing an organization should review the current Student Organization Directory, which lists all currently registered USG Student Organizations and contact information for each, or download a copy of the USG Student Organization Handbook, which gives step-by-step instructions for forming a new group or club.

President's Council Committee (PCC)
The PCC is comprised of the President's of all of the student organizations on campus at USG. If the president is unable to attend they are able to send another executive officer in their place to represent their organization. The group meets each month and there is a different spotlight topic ranging from budget 101 to how to get students more involved.
There also is an open floor where each student organization has the opportunity to make announcements of what their group is doing and to promote upcoming events. For more information about the PCC please contact mresop@umd.edu.
