Applying for Admissions

Students applying for admission to UMCP's Criminology & Criminal Justice program at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) must complete the UMCP/USG admission application, which can be found at:

Applications for admission should be submitted by mail or in person directly to:

Application Deadlines

Admissions occur on a rolling basis. Students who wish to be considered for entry in the Fall Semester should submit an application by June 1 for priority consideration. After June 1, qualified applicants are admitted on a space-available basis. Students who wish to be considered for entry in the Spring Semester should first inquire with the Director about mid-year enrollment, and apply by November 15.

Requirements for Admission

Applicants should have an overall GPA of 2.0 of better, and a grade of "C" or better in each of the four courses specifically required by the major (CCJS 100, CCJS 105, CCJS 230, and CCJS200, or their equivalents). Applicants should also attain junior standing (56 or more transferable college credits) by the time of enrollment.
