Bookstore and Required Books
At the beginning of each semester a temporary bookstore at USG will sell required textbooks for all courses offered to students in the program. Complete lists of required textbooks are printed in course syllabi.
College of Arts and Humanities
Communication is one of many departments within the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland, College Park. All degree requirements and policies of the College of Arts and Humanities are applicable to students enrolled at USG.
Commencement
Students with 120 credits and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, including all major and Core requirements, are eligible for graduation. Students apply for graduation via Testudo after being notified to do so by the
Coordinator of the program.. In general, spring graduates apply for graduation in January, while fall graduates apply in August.
Commencement Honors
Shady Grove offers a Student Achievement Award to one student per program, based on academic achievement and school or community service. Award recipients are recognized at the Universities at Shady Grove Graduation Celebration in May.
Financial Aid
The Office of Student Services at Universities at Shady Grove can provide information about the financial aid application process, eligibility and disbursement. When completing financial aid forms, indicate "University of
Maryland, College Park" as your intended or current university.
