General Information

The Robert H. Smith School of Business offers a nationally recognized undergraduate program that provides students grounding in business and management principles while preparing them to leverage change in today's technology-driven marketplace. The Smith School is dedicated to preparing graduates to lead organizations in an economy fueled by technology, globalization, and new venture opportunity.

The Smith School of Business is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier accrediting agency for business administration degree programs.

Program Information

Since the fall of 2001, the Robert H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland, College Park began enrolling students in four majors at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG)- the University System of Maryland's new concept for higher education."The only difference between studying business in the Smith School at College Park and at USG is location.

The competitive admission requirements, outstanding faculty and curriculum, student academic advising and career services and
the degree awarded will be the same," said Patricia Cleveland,Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the Smith School.

Admissions Information

Admission to the Smith School undergraduate program is competitive as capacity is limited at both College Park (CP) and USG.With the exception of "early admission" to our program at USG the Smith School admission standards are essentially the same for CP and USG. There are three ways for prospective students to meet with a University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business advisor; USM transfer visits, Smith @ USG admission workshops, and USG open houses. Tuition and Financial Aid

All Smith School undergraduate students at College Park or Shady Grove pay University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) tuition. However, students in the program at USG pay USG and not UMCP mandatory fees. For more information about tuition and fees for the Smith School undergraduate program at USG.
