Partnerships are at the heart of USG.
The Universities at Shady Grove was founded in 2000 by the University System of Maryland as a collaboration of nine universities to increase pathways to affordable, high quality undergraduate and graduate degrees and help fuel economic development in Montgomery County and the surrounding region.
Partnerships in Education, Workforce, and Economic Development
USG is committed to working closely with the K-12 school system, local community colleges, employers, and our university partners to provide the region with a well-prepared labor force and ensure students achieve successful and rewarding careers after graduation.
Business, government, and community leaders who serve on USG’s Board of Advisors provide ready information about changing workforce demands, giving USG the ability to respond quickly to the needs of employers by adding and enhancing new and existing academic programs.
