Three new degree programs will open their doors at USG during the upcoming 2011 – 2012 academic year. The University of Maryland, College Park will bring its Master of Information Management (MIM) from its top-ranked iSchool, in addition to a Master's Certification Program in Physical Education (PE MCERT). The University of Maryland, Baltimore County will launch its Management of Aging Services (B.A.) program at USG.

“These programs, like all programs at USG, have been specifically selected and designed to meet the needs of our region’s workforce,” said Stewart Edelstein, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, University System of Maryland and Executive Director at USG. “USG is proud to work closely with our university partners, and employers in our community, to identify areas of growth and need in healthcare, technology, education and other fields.”

Master of Information Management (MIM)

The MIM program is offered by the University of Maryland’s College of Information Studies (iSchool) and trains information management professionals to strategically manage information and technology and understand the issues in information science, computing, and management. Learn more about MIM at USG here.

Management of Aging Services (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts in Management of Aging Services program is offered by University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is designed to prepare leaders to meet the challenges and opportunities associated with the “graying of America”, by integrating the disciplines of aging, management, and policy, and providing students with a distinctive and transformational educational experience. Physical Education Master's Certification Program (PE-MCERT)

The Physical Education Master's Certification Program (PE-MCERT) is offered by the University of Maryland and is a 13-month intensive graduate level teacher preparation program in which students complete 30 credits of graduate course work and a 12 credit internship. The program is open to anyone interested in teaching physical education or working with children across a variety of contexts. Following completion of all requirements, students receive both a Masters Degree (M.Ed.) and Maryland Specialist Certification in K-12 Physical Education. Learn more about the PE-MCERT at USG here.
