Mr. Robert L. Mitchell
Chairman and CEO Mitchell & Best Homebuilders
Chairman and CEO of Mitchell & Best Homebuilders, began his tenure on the Board of Advisors (BOA) in 2003. He is on the University System of Maryland Board of Regents and serves as its representative on the BOA. In addition, he serves on the Scholarship and Development Committee.
As a Montgomery County resident with a business based in the County, he understands the relationship between higher education and the professional development of the region's workforce.
Additionally, he appreciates USG's importance to students who need the flexibility of being able to work and live at home while attending school. He notes that USG continues to position itself for growth by adding programs in careers that are in high demand such as nursing, pharmacy and digital computer simulation.
Mitchell has been in the home construction industry since 1964 and formed his own company in 1975. He has earned numerous industry accolades including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the combined building associations of suburban Maryland and northern Virginia and induction in the National Association of Home Builders Hall of Fame.
He is a past president of the National Association of Home Builders and he served on the Governor's Housing Commission for the State of Maryland. |
