President and Publisher
The Gazette

President and Publisher of the Gazette, joined the Board of Advisors in 2002. He is the Chairman of the Board and previously the Chair of its Communications Advisory Committee and a member of the Board's Nominating Committee.

As an executive and a parent, he recognizes the rising cost of higher education and values USG for providing local students access to high quality baccalaureate and graduate degree programs from nine University System of Maryland institutions. Additionally, he credits USG with contributing to the region's economic vitality by furthering educational opportunities for its citizens. He foresees future growth for USG as it adds new programs from its University of Maryland partners.

Mannarino came to the Gazette in 1989 and has held a variety of positions including advertising manager, advertising director, general manager, publisher and Vice President & Publisher. Prior to the Gazette, he operated a family wholesale and retail furniture and textile business. He is married to Jessica Tydings Mannarino, and they have 3 children, Joseph 16, Michael 14 and Kate 8.
