Director of the Office of Community Use of Public Facilities for Montgomery County, became a member of the Board of Advisers in 2003. She is the Second Vice Chair and Secretary of the Board as well as the Chair of its Nominating Committee. An educator who possesses more than 20 years of experience working in school systems, she enjoys speaking with USG students about current issues and career opportunities. She considers one of the assets of USG is the rich diversity of its student body and their life experiences. Additionally, she notes USG's value to the region is that it offers students the ability to obtain a baccalaureate or graduate degree in Montgomery County without the expense of living on a traditional campus.

Gong serves on several Boards and Commissions including Montgomery Community Television, Leadership Montgomery, The Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium, The Arts and Humanities Cultural Plan Steering Committee and the Montgomery County Police Chief Advisory Council. In 1996, she was nominated to the Maryland Women Hall of Fame. Currently, she is presiding in her third term as president of OCA, a national Pan-Asian American organization dedicated to advancing social justice and civic involvement
