Shriver Center

The Shriver Center is now operating at Shady Grove offering UMBC students with resume help as well as assistance in locating internship and co-op placements.

Students attending classes at Shady Grove through UMBC may visit the third floor of building one from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. for help with resumes and cover letters as well as internship and co-op placement. Internship Coordinator Andy Cruz has been working to develop internship opportunities with the local community and is looking forward to helping Shady Grove students achieve through applied learning.

UMBC students have the opportunity to step outside the boundaries of the classroom and experience the real world through co-operative education and internships. In addition to gaining valuable work experience, many students can also receive three credits in their major.

Students participating in the internship or co-op program are required to enroll in an intern/co-op practicum in which they set learning goals as well as put their experience into context by completing journal reflections and evaluations.
