The Graduating Class of 2008 Donates a Tree to USG

Class of 2008 Tree PlantingIt is with great pride that we recognize the graduating class of 2008 for donating a Kwanzan Cherry Tree to the Universities at Shady Grove. This is the first time that a graduating class has donated a senior gift to the campus. The student council asked each graduating senior to donate $2.08 (symbolizing 2008) to this meaning and perpetual gift. The tree was planted on May 5, and presented to Dr. Stewart Edelstein by Student Council President Itamar Simhon, while other members of the senior class and student council gathered around the new tree for a photo. A plaque dedicating the tree was designed by incoming Student Council President, George Zamora and reads "A Gift from a Green Generation".
