The Universities at Shady Grove Student Council was established in 2002 to serve as an advocate for the USG student body. The Student Council strives to provide a forum students to voice their concerns and to facilitate the undertaking of improvements and changes in the operations of the Universities at Shady Grove with respect to the needs of the student population. Members meet on a regular basis and participate in a variety of activities such as student forums, community service projects, and student life activities that serve to enhance the students' academic experience at USG.

The application may be found on our student life portal, Connect@USG on the Student Council site in the forms section.  The USG Student Council Handbook of Rules and Expectations is also available on the Student Council site under documents. All applicants are encouraged to review the Handbook before completing their application.


In accordance to the USG Student Council Constitution, the Student Council body will be comprised of the Executive Board: the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Chair of Marketing, and the Chair of Events and Initiatives. In addition, the Student Council administration will also include Institutional Representatives from the different universities with undergraduate programs hosted at USG.
