The University of Maryland College Park, together with Montgomery County Public Schools, is offering the opportunity to earn a Master's Degree in Middle School Mathematics. Additionally, you may have the possibility to apply for an add-on endorsement in middle school mathematics to your current teacher certification from MSDE (this is not an initial teacher certification).
Program candidates are prepared to become highly qualified middle school mathematics teachers, fulfilling the mathematics education needs of students in urban settings. A 3-year master's program, candidates are required to complete 30 credits of coursework in mathematics, mathematics education, and teacher research.
This program is appropriate for current middle school math teachers with elementary certfication, or for teachers who wish to teach mathematics at the middle school level.
Coursework is offered at the Universities of Maryland at Shady Grove. Coursework is offered at a reduced rate.
