Against the backdrop of a global talent shortage, the growing workforce gap is set to amplify challenges across industries. Over the next 10 years, approximately 216,712 job openings are expected in Montgomery County, with more than 74% requiring at least a Bachelor’s Degree. In Biotechnology alone, at least 1,143 job openings are expected annually, totaling 16,144 jobs needed by 2034 in the county.

This event will bring together local government, industry leaders, and academia to gain a deeper understanding of Montgomery County's workforce disparities and explore how new jobs and degrees can better align with industry needs. Join us to:

  • Engage in facilitated roundtable discussions to strategize solutions that can improve current and future workforce needs.
  • Hear from industry leaders, academia and local government on the existing data gap that challenges the creation of a cohesive framework to address workforce needs.
  • Collaborate to develop a strategy that can shape more impactful solutions toward building a highly skilled talent pipeline.

This event is funded by Montgomery County through a grant for the READY Institute at USG.
